PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA INGGRIS
The Department of English Education, Graduate School of the University of Muhammadiyah
Prof.Dr. HAMKA (UHAMKA) was set up on January 29, 2007. It
was based on the Decree of Directorate General of Higher Education,
Minister of National Education Republic of Indonesia No. 155/D/T/2007
on January 29, 2007.
The establishment of this department is largely due
to the high demand of more qualified and professional teachers and
the vast development of science and technology in language teaching
and learning such as ICT (Information and Communication Technology).
These require English teachers to master the newest teaching methodology,
ICT, course design, and research in English language education.
V I S I O N
The Department of English Education with its excellence in English Education, Research and Development.
M I S S I O N
- To organize the Department of English Education which takes the development of education and technology as its viewpoint;
- To organize the Department of English Education which prepares religious scholars and practitioners in English Education;
- To develop science and technology in connection with English Education;
- To make efforts to contribute significant results of research and development of English Education to the advancement of education and society.
OBJECTIVES
- To educate religious graduate students to master the theory and practice of English linguistics and education;
- To educate religious graduate students to master the concept and practice of research and development in English language education;
- To prepare religious and professional lecturer and teachers in English language teaching, presenters and editors.
